St. Matthew's RC High School are committed to a strong culture of safeguarding, and we ensure that all staff embrace the concept of “it could happen here.”  We expect everyone who works in and visits our school to share our commitment to vigilance and safety at all times. We encourage staff, students and visitors to report anything that concerns them, and we will always act in the best interest of the child. Our students are taught how to stay safe, including when online, and to recognise when they may be at risk. We ensure our students know how to get help when they need it.

Our policies can be found on this site and all visitors receive essential safeguarding and health and safety information when they enter our school.  If you have safeguarding concerns or need to contact us out of school hours, please email confide@smrchs.com

We are also part of Operation Encompass.  This means we get regular updates by the police about situations that may have happened within families in our community.  Please understand that sometimes we may have to speak to you about logged cases to ensure we can safeguard our children.
