At St Matthew's we are on a journey to Catholic Excellence.
I have had the privilege of leading St Matthew's as Headteacher since September 2018. I have previously been a leader at St Patrick's RC High School which is a National Teaching School. I have a clear remit to bring the same standards of Catholic excellence of those enjoyed at the National teaching school to the community at St Matthew's.
My vision is clear. I expect the highest standards, in order to achieve the best for our young people. Our core purpose is of course our Catholic mission: 'We pray, We care, We achieve'. Our core business is Teaching, Learning and Achievement. I am confident that we have taken the first steps to being the outstanding Catholic community we all want for our young people. Whilst I recognise that there is much still to do, I am very confident that working together, we can achieve excellence for our community.
I am a parent and therefore know how precious every child is. I am committed to working in partnership with parents and know that by working together we will ensure that every child enjoys school, is happy and has the opportunity to thrive and achieve their best.
I will be keeping the messages to children simple, respect your learning and the learning of others. Most importantly all students will be told by me that I expect them to respond appropriately to any reasonable request from an adult in school.
I look forward to meeting you, working together to be of service to our school community, as we continue on our journey of great and exciting change.
